How to Start Learning to Program

step 1 : Understand that absolute beginners must learn a high-level programming language such as BASIC or Pascal. BASIC is a very simple language to get you programming in no time, while Pascal teaches you how to structure your programs correctly and will help you when you learn another language.

step 2 : Remember that if you decide you don't want to learn a high-level language or you already know one, learn a language based off of the C programming language, such as C++, C#, or Java. Don't learn C yet, though, because C allows you to access all aspects of your computer, and without proper understanding of good coding practices you risk picking up some bad coding habits which will be hard to get rid of afterwards. After you've learned one of the languages listed in #2, you can move on to C.

step 3 : Know that once you've learned C you should learn Assembly language. Assembly is the first language created by programmers and was created directly from machine language, which is the only language a computer understands.
